University of Limpopo

Lehlogonolo Shalang is currently a PhD student and has a Master’s degree in Plant Protection (Nematology).

Her research focuses on the early detection of fungal infection in Eucalyptus using volatile organic compound (VOC) profiling, hyperspectral signatures and  sensing approaches. Her work investigates changes in Eucalyptus leaf chemistry and spectral signatures following infection by Teratosphaeria destructans, with the aim of identifying reliable indicators of infection before visible symptoms develop.
